DIXON – Kari Lynn Cooper, 42, of Dixon, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was an independent contractor for Sauk Valley Media.

Kari was born July 6, 1969, in Waukegan, the daughter of Larry and Diane Wiegand. She married William L. Cooper on May 1, 1999, in Dixon.

Survivors include her husband of Dixon; her mother, Diane (Charles) Grobe Sr. of Franklin Grove; two daughters, Elizabeth L. McCrory of Rochelle and Amber R. Cooper of Dixon; one brother, Kevin (Jean) Wiegand of Moab, Utah; three stepbrothers, Charles W. (Beth) Grobe Jr. and William (Melanie) Grobe, both of Rockford, and Benjamin (Egle) Grobe of Antioch; two stepsisters, Patricia (Richard) Kohn of Epworth, Iowa, and Elizabeth (Leroy) Grobe-Brown of Clinton, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Norma Wiegand of Sterling; her mother-in-law, Wanda Cooper; and one sister-in-law, Julie Wiegand of Polo.

Kari was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Keith Wiegand.

There will be no visitation. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nachusa, with the Rev. Brant Clements, pastor, officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.

A memorial fund has been established.
