Josh Burkhalter, owner of Cobblestone Ice Cream and Deli, dishes up a cone of Superman ice cream for Hector and Andrew Rodriguez, 12. The new restaurant opened April 4 at 603 Freeport Road, in the Goodwill/Aaron’s shopping center.

What do you offer? We have a full-service ice cream shop with 24 flavors of hard ice cream, shakes, smoothies, malts, and signature sundaes. We also have a large, full New York deli-style menu featuring good-sized hot deli sandwiches with top-quality ingredients, amazing bread, and our own signature sauces. We do Reubens, pastrami, hand-carved gyros, Italian beef, pita melts, wraps and more.

What’s new? We have moved to Sterling from Mount Morris. We are excited to service the Sterling area.

What makes your business special? We are a New York deli-style experience with big, bold sandwiches that have layers of flavor in every bite.

How many do you employ? We have 30 employees. We’re always looking for good help.

Tell us about yourself: We’re the owners, Josh and Alison Burkhalter of Dixon (established 2009).

We have two daughters, Ashtyn (Sweet Pickle), 2, and Juliana (Olive), 6 weeks. (They had to have deli nicknames, of course.)

Anything else you’d like us to know? We have created an upbeat environment with new, trendy selections for the community to enjoy. Having a wide selection and staying on top of food trends are high priorities for us.

Address: 603 Freeport Road, in the Goodwill/Aaron’s shopping center.

Hours: 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

Phone: 815-626-9999.
