DIXON – The third annual Dixon Main Street Chili Cook-off will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Beanblossom parking lot on River Road in the downtown.
The Beanblossom lot will be closed to cars at 6 a.m. Sunday to accommodate the cook-off, sponsored The Stables, Drifters, Alley Loop and Zero’s.
Cost to enter is $25. Forms can be found at www.dixonil.com/mainstreet or at the Main Street office, 115 S. Hennepin Ave.
The contest will include cash prizes for first, second and third place. There also will be awards for people’s choice and showmanship.
Set-up will begin 8 a.m. Cooks are required to prepare their entire chili at the event.
Admission to the chili cook-off is $3 per person and includes tasting tickets. The event is open to all ages.
There also will be a salsa contest. Cost to enter is $25. Judges will award a best in show prize.
Beanbag toss stations will be set up for tournament play. Registration for the tournament will begin at 11 a.m., with play beginning at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $20 per team, and prizes will be awarded.
