Autumn on Parade

OREGON – Autumn on Parade offers handmade crafts, a parade, and plenty of food on Saturday and Sunday on the lawn of the historic Ogle County Courthouse and surrounding streets. There also will be a car and tractor show, a fine arts show, and an Olde English Faire at Stronghold Castle. Tours of the recently renovated Ogle County Courthouse will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free. For more information, go to or call 815-732-3465.

Fulton celebrates the fall

FULTON – The Fulton Fall Festival will be Saturday downtown and Saturday and Sunday at Heritage Canyon. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days; the beer garden will be open from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. New activities include a petting zoo, pony rides, two car club cruise-ins and make ’n’ take crafts. Returning favorites include the hay bale maze, inflatable rides, arts and crafts show, food vendors, a balloon artist and magician, games and a 2-mile run/walk. Learn more at or 815-589-4545.

Punkins dash for pumpkins

STERLING – The 19th annual Great Pumpkin Dash Cross Country Festival is Saturday at Hoover Park. Registration begins at 9 a.m.; the first race begins at 11 a.m. Participants are grouped by age and run dashes of various lengths throughout the day. The races range from 25 meters for walkers younger than 2 to 1,000 meters for youth 12-14. The winner of each heat receives a larger pumpkin, but the first 1,600 finishers will receive a small pumpkin. Runners also will get a coupon redeemable for a free lunch and a bag of Halloween goodies. Go to or call 815-622-6200 for more information.
