YORKVILLE – Michael R. Yeoward, 58, of Yorkville, formerly of Rock Falls, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Rochelle Community Hospital. He was a procurement administrator with Fermi Lab for 10 years.

Michael was born Dec. 9, 1951, in Sterling, the son of Jerrald and Mildred (Seidel) Yeoward. He married Shelly King on June 26, 1971.

He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rock Falls. and was a referee for the Illinois High School Association. Mike was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan, a member of Yorkville Moose Lodge and the Turner’s Club in Aurora. He was a devoted Papa and Dad.

Survivors include his wife, Shelly of Rock Falls; his mother, Millie Unger of Sterling; two daughters, Hope (Mark) McDonnell of Moline and Amy Besinger of Hampshire; one son, Justin (Holly) Yeoward of Coral Springs, Fla; special friend, Carrie Van Landiut and her sons, Alec and Zachary; three sisters, Lou Ann Cox of Sterling, Betty Yeoward of Naples, Fla., and Linda Wypasek of Rock Island; one brother, Jerry (Shelly) Yeoward Jr. of Springfield; and six grandchildren, Tatum, Connor, Karlie, and Brady McDonnell, Mattisyn Besinger, and Kyle Yeoward. 

He was preceded in death by his father; one granddaughter, Samantha Yeoward; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Henrietta Milner, pastor of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
