ROCK FALLS – Delores N. Langer, 74, of Harlingen, Texas, formerly of Rock Falls, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, in Harlingen, Texas.

Delores was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Rossville, the daughter of Fred and Lorraine (Flynn) Page.

She married Erwin Scovel on May 28, 1954, in Hoopeston. She later married William Anderson Jr. on Oct. 28, 1978, in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1995. She then married Phillip D. Langer on July 7, 1998, in Rock Falls. He survives.

She worked at Dixon State School for 7 years; then in 1995, she was appointed Montmorency Township Road Commissioner until 1997. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Combs, Texas, formerly a member of Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls.

She was an avid bowler and a director of the Rock River Bowling Association.

She was a member of REACT for several years. She also was a strong member of the Democratic Party and served as an election judge in both Rock Falls and Harlingen, Texas.

She loved to sing for area nursing homes, churches, and for special events.

She also enjoyed dancing and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip; four daughters, Dawn (John) Gasso of Sterling, Tina (Steve) Smith of Rock Falls, Pat Holder of Illinois, and Carol (Charles) Green of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; four sons, David (Ronda) Scovel of Spencer, Iowa, Donald (Linda) Anderson of Rock Falls, Terry Anderson of Illinois, and Dennis (Lynette) Langer of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; 21 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Truman (Zelda) Page of Hoopeston.

She was preceded in death by her first two husbands; one daughter, Sherry L. Balsley; and two sons, Joseph Scovel and Terry Lee Scovel.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.

Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.

A memorial has been established.
