Fiesta Cancun Mexican restaurant, which announced a new site for Dixon in November 2007, finally is making good on its promise.

Doubly good, in fact.

Workers are remodeling the 3,500-square-foot building in the Presidential Plaza shopping center, near the Dixon Walmart; it should be open by October or November, Fiesta Cancun spokesman Mario Lopez said Tuesday.

In addition, work on a 4,600-square-foot restaurant, in a storefront in the 3200 block of East Lincolnway in Sterling, is expected to begin in early 2011, Lopez said.

Fiesta Cancun also has locations in Loves Park and Freeport.
