ROCK ISLAND (AP) — After spending nearly 1,300 days in the Rock Island Jail, Joseph Horton of Hillsdale will soon be moving to a state prison to begin a sentence for criminal sexual assault.

At a hearing Thursday, Rock Island County Associate Judge Raymond Conklin imposed three consecutive four-year sentences on Horton, but said he would receive credit for the 1,285 days he has spent in jail since his Sept. 26, 2006 arrest.

Horton said he plans an appeal.

Conklin convicted Horton in a December bench trial. Horton's first trial in September 2007 was declared a mistrial.

Prosecutors say Horton committed a sex act with a 14-year-old boy in September 2006. They say that he also committed sex acts with an 11-year-old boy between April and June of 2006, and with a 16-year-old girl in August 2006.
