We live out in the country in Franklin Grove on Twist Road, and something has to be done about the cats.
I don’t know how many have been dropped off in front of our house just because we live out in the country. We don’t want your cats.
Lee County needs money to operate. Why do we not license cats as we do dogs? How many ads, every day, are in the paper for cats and kittens? It should be a mandatory rule to spay or neuter all cats that are in a household, or have a kennel license like they do for dogs in Lee County.
So-o-o many kittens and cats – something has to be done about this. What about a low-cost spay-neuter clinic for Lee County? Most counties have this – at the price of spaying – $250 on the average.
I can see why people can’t afford it in this economy. But this has been an ongoing problem for years.
Make licensing house cats mandatory in Lee County like they do dogs, or apply for a kennel license like dogs. If you don’t want your cat, neither do your country neighbors – including us.
Please be a responsible cat owner and spay or neuter your pet. Also, give them shots, including rabies.
Again, this should be mandatory in Lee County.
