Some may say this is a sick attempt at manipulating social networks, while others may argue it is a great achievement.

What we can agree on is its hypnotizing pull.

I'm talking about a Saw-esk live-streaming event beginning February 15 on this official website. Dubbed "Man in a Box," the show will stream live to Internet audiences around the world featuring a chat room, public opinion poll, and even encouraging viewer interaction by enabling them to suggest foods he will eat.

The man, UK broadcast personality Tim Shaw, will be sealed in a 3-foot-high, 4-and-a-half-foot-wide, 8-foot-long box for thirty days -- that is, unless viewers correctly locate him on Google Maps using a daily clue.

The purpose? A charity, Help for Heroes, with proceeds helping out wounded UK soldiers. The lucky winner wins £30,000, or about $46,791.

Isolation will be the main event. Tim will have therapists on hand, counseling him on keeping mentally healthy.

The first clue is already out, if you plan to follow along.

Hopefully, the man does alright.

If you want to check it out, visit the main site here.

According to Help for Heroes Web site, "Over a million people have responded to date and millions of pounds have been raised to buy much needed services that will aid their recovery, but we need more! So far, we have allocated almost all of the money we have raised in order to fund direct projects and support other service charities."

Sounds great! Maybe something like this needs to happen right here in the US.
