Fillies top Thunder in opener
Shelby McBride scored 16 points Monday and Erin Carney added 12 to lead Morrison past West Carroll 49-39 in a quarterfinal at the Class 2A Riverdale Regional in Port Byron.
The Fillies (6-23) trailed 32-31 entering the final quarter. They will face top-seeded Riverdale in Wednesday’s semifinals.
Kara Durward scored 19 points and Becca Fritz added 12 for the Thunder (3-23).
Dakota 42, Forreston 40: Aleesha Cleaver scored 14 points and Katie Boals added 10 as the Indians edged the Cardinals in a quarterfinal at the 1A Pearl City Regional.
Holly Kortemeier had 12 points for Forreston (20-9), which shared the NUIC East title with Dakota. The Indians will face top-seeded Aquin in Wednesday’s semifinals.
Pearl City 48, Orangeville 22: Kelsey Kluck scored 10 points for the Wolves in a win over the Broncos in a 1A Pearl City Regional quarterfinal.
Haley Obert scored 10 points for Orangeville. Pearl City will face second-seeded Eastland on Wednesday.
Princeton 58, Hall 45: Molly Stephens scored 16 points and C.J. Rhodes added 15 for the Tigresses in a win over the Red Devils in the 2A Princeton Regional.
Jaclyn Kain had 17 points for Hall. Princeton will play top-seeded Bureau Valley in today’s semifinals.
Faith 34, Oak Hill 30: Parker Ortgiesen had 12 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in the Falcons’ win in Janesville, Wis.
Also for Faith Christian (20-4), Amanda Smith had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Jessica Bonnell added 10 points.

Faith 55, Oak Hill 43: Adam Detig paced a balanced attack with 19 points for the Falcons in Janesville, Wis.
Also for Faith Christian (17-6), Keegan McWethy had 10 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, Seth Van Buren had 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals, and Wes German had 13 rebounds, 10 blocks and eight points.
