Financial aid seminars on tap at Sauk

Sauk Valley Community College’s Office of Student Financial Assistance is offering free one-hour financial aid seminars for parents and students, all on Wednesdays.

They are:

n 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 17, Room 2F3

n 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 24, Room 2F3

n 6 to 8 p.m., March 3, Room 2F5

n 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. March 17, Room 2F3

Deb Stiefel, SVCC’s coordinator of student financial assistance, will explain the financial aid process, the various opportunities available, and the 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA takes only a few minutes, and students may be eligible for more than $5,000 in federal and state aid annually.

Students and parents must bring their U.S. Department of Education PIN number, 2009 federal taxes and 2009 W-2s for students, 2009 federal taxes and 2009 W-2s for parents (if the student is a dependent), and a valid driver’s license.
