HOMEWOOD – Helen A. Zuithoff ended her earthly journey of 101 years and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010.

With help from her daughter, Marcia, and good neighbors, Helen was able to remain in her home ever since the death of her beloved husband, Wilfred, in 1981. Once a very active member of her church, Emmanuel Reformed Church, Chicago, Helen continued ministering to people in later years through writing, phone calls, and prayer.

Helen is the dear mother of Marcia (George) Kooinga of Crete and the Rev. Kenneth (Sally) Zuithoff of Sterling; loving grandmother of Todd, Kristin, Patti, Mark, Craig, and Jeffrey; and great-grandmother of 12.

A service celebrating Helen’s life and the resurrection of our Lord was Monday at Living Springs Community Church, Glenwood, with the Rev. Chris Spoor officiating.

Arrangements were completed by Smits Funeral Home, DeYoung-Vroegh Chapel, South Holland.

A memorial has been established through the Bethel Reformed Church, Sterling, for the mission work of the Reformed Church in Chiapas, Mexico.
