DIXON – Agata D. Mazzarisi, 69, of Dixon, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She and her husband owned and operated Mazzarisi’s Pizzeria, Shannon, for 9 years, before her retirement.

Mrs. Mazzarisi was born Jan. 24, 1941, in Palermo, Italy, the daughter of Francesco and Giuseppina (Bucalo) Dita. She married Pasquale Mazzarisi on June 19, 1958, in Palermo, Italy. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2007. Agata attended St. Anthony Catholic Church, Rockford.

Survivors include four sons, Steve (Jessica) Mazzarisi of Savanna, Vince Mazzarisi and Joe Mazzarisi, both of Dixon, and Frank Mazzarisi of Freeport; a daughter, Tina Dart of Kankakee; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established.
