DIXON – Dorothy M. Gaul, 96, of Dixon, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. She worked as a secretary at various government agencies before retiring.

Ms. Gaul was born March 18, 1913, in Amboy, the daughter of Arthur and Gertrude (Gascoigne) Gaul. Dorothy enjoyed letter writing, especially to Republican government officials and families, painting art, and shopping.

Survivors include her many friends at the nursing home.

Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, with the Rev. Jeff Coester officiating. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.

A memorial has been established.
