EDWARDS – Brad Horton, 59, of Edwards, passed away at 1:39 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.
Brad was born Oct. 3, 1950, in Dixon, to William “Bill” and Bernice E. (Deets) Horton. He married Nancy Kay Gustine on May 7, 1994, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Polo; one daughter, Alicia (Derek) Lash of Peoria; two grandsons, Cayden Lash and Brady Johnson; one brother, Brian (Kim) Horton of Washington, Ill.; and nieces and nephew, Jennifer (Kevin) Lawson, Rebecca Horton, Taneea Gustine, Zane Puckett, and Chelsea Barr.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Brad was the Peoria County recorder of deeds. He was the president of the Second Ward Republican Club. Brad was a past president of the Kiwanis, Peoria Township Officials, Peoria County Assessor Association, and the Illinois Assessor Association, and was an lllinois Property Assessment Institute instructor.
Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today at Kickapoo Creek Winery, 6605 N. Smith Road, Edwards. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6:45 p.m. today at the winery. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association for aneurysm research.
