PAW PAW – Scott Torman, a 14-year Lee County deputy coroner, died Monday at Mendota Community Hospital.

Torman, 57, who owned and operated Torman Funeral Home in Paw Paw, died of an apparent heart attack, said his son, Michael Torman.

Torman became a deputy coroner on Feb. 23, 1994, said former Lee County Coroner Richard Schilling, also a funeral director.

He followed his father, Robert Torman, as a deputy coroner after the death of the elder Torman.

“He was fantastic,” Schilling said.

“He was made deputy coroner, and his father, because of the size of the county.”

A full obituary is on page A4.
