GALESBURG – A Knox County judge has given defense attorneys more time to tell prosecutors which, expert witnesses they will call to testify at the trial of Nicholas T. Sheley.

During a brief case management hearing Friday, Judge James Stewart gave Sheley’s attorneys until Feb. 26 to make their disclosure.

Sheley, 30, of Sterling, is charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder in the death of Ronald Randall, 65, of Galesburg. Randall, along with seven other people, were killed by Sheley in late June 2008, according to police.

He faces the death penalty if convicted of Randall’s death. He is expected to be tried in summer or fall 2010.
