Senior Nathan Reed is Sterling High School’s male student of the month for September. He is the son of Brian and Diane Reed.

Favorite class: Cooperative Work Training, because I get to work at Kmart and it teaches you about finances. It teaches a lot of skills I’ll use later on. It’s one of the most useful classes I’ve taken.

Top teacher: Steve Johnson for chemistry. He makes it really fun. He has a lot of tricks to help you learn the formulas.

Extracurriculars: Band and golf.

After graduation: I will attend either Bradley University in Peoria or Illinois State University to major in secondary education with an endorsement in either science or history.

BFF: Kyle Cox, an SHS senior. He’s been my friend the longest. We’ve known each other since the fifth grade. He’s stuck with me through everything.

Hearts: Classic rock, Will Ferrell, the movie “Inglorious Bastards,” golf, roller hockey, and barbecue ribs.

Darts: Algebra III is my least favorite class. Losing everyone around me is my biggest fear. People who are ignorant make my blood boil.

Survival guide: Listen to your teachers.

Dream job: NASCAR driver, it seems like a fun time to drive on an oval and go fast.

Trading spaces: Florida, it’s the place to relax.

Trading places: The president, so I could put my own spin on how to run the country, because I don’t agree with most politicians’ views.

Shout out to: My grandparents.
