Missiles fall to Forreston

The Milledgeville Missiles had a pair of double-figure scorers, but a 3-for-10 shooting performance from the free-throw line did them in Wednesday night during a 42-37 NUIC East loss at Forreston.

Keali Engelkens scored a game-high 16 points and Andrea Herin added 11 for the Missiles (4-3, 1-1), who were outscored 19-14 after halftime.

Alex Ludwig had 13 points to lead the Cardinals (4-3, 1-0), and Stephanie Conkey added 12.

River Ridge-Scales Mound 46, Polo 26: The Marcos fell behind 30-13 by halftime and couldn’t catch up in a nonconference loss at Polo.

Julie Haye scored 12 points and Katelyn Grobe added 10 for Polo (3-4). Whitney Kieffer led all scorers with 14 for RRSM (4-1).

Wrestling

Byron 58, Polo 18: Drew Cheatham (171 pounds) and Zach Hagemann (152) recorded pins for the Marcos, who also won a forfeit in a nonconference dual at Polo.

Jake Peterson was Polo’s other winner, receiving a forfeit at 285.
