No. 8 West Virginia 84, Portland 65: Da’Sean Butler tied his season high of 26 points to lead West Virginia in Anaheim to the 76 Classic championship with a victory over Portland.
Kevin Jones added a season-best 17 points for the Mountaineers (5-0).
No. 11 North Carolina 80, Nevada 73: Deon Thompson scored a career-high 23 points and North Carolina beat pesky Nevada in Chapel Hill to give coach Roy Williams his 600th career victory.
Ed Davis added 16 points, 15 rebounds for the Tar Heels (6-1).
Armon Johnson scored 20 to lead Nevada (2-3).
No. 14 Washington 63, Montana 59: Venoy Overton made two free throws with 14.5 seconds left to allow Washington (5-0) to escape with a victory in Seattle.
No. 19 Clemson 70, No. 12 Butler 69: Demontez Stitt made two free throws with 3.3 seconds remaining to give Clemson a victory over Butler in the 76 Classic in Anaheim.
Trevor Booker also blocked a shot and deflected an inbounds pass in the final second for the Tigers (6-1).
