Forreston ready for celebration

FORRESTON – Music, food and holiday bargains will be part of Forreston’s annual Christmas in the Country celebration Friday and Saturday.

Organizers are ready for another successful event this year.

On Friday, the Rock River Valley Barbershop Chorus will perform at 6:45 p.m. at the Car Store.

If visitors to Forreston are hungry, a pulled pork supper will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Car Store.

American Legion Post 308 will take orders for “Hometown Heroes, Military Roll of Honor” books from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Car Store.

Gift certificates will be available, with book delivery by Christmas.

Children can visit Santa from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Forreston Public Library. Cookies and cocoa will be available.

Members of the Forreston High School Carolers will perform throughout the village from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.

Hayrides will be available from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Depot.

On Saturday, Santa will visit downtown businesses from 9 a.m. to noon.

A new activity this year is the variety show, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the fire station.
