Susie Hicks scored 20 points Friday night to lead the Dixon girls basketball team to its first win of the season, 53-36 against Morrison at the Sauk Valley Shootout in Rock Falls.

Catie Cox had 11 points, and Liz Greenwalt added 10 to lead the Duchesses (1-3).

Morrison (0-4) was led by Danielle Stralow’s 12 points.

Newman 65, Stillman Valley 60, OT: Kayla Moore scored 17 points Friday to lead Newman to an overtime victory in a Sauk Valley Shootout game at Rock Falls.

Also for the Comets (3-1), Sarah Cesarek and Brianna Richardson had 14 points apiece and Sarah Prendergast added 11. Newman won despite hitting just 12 of 28 free-throw attempts.

Sarah Nicholson and Cassie Alderks each had 18 points for Stillman Valley (2-2).

Ottawa Marquette 48, West Carroll 24: Kara Durward had 10 points and Sophi Morhardt added eight for the Thunder in a loss to the Crusaders at the Oregon Tip-Off Tournament.

Mendota 58, Oregon 34: Erin Clapper had seven points and Maisie Mahoney added six for the Hawks in a loss to the Trojans at the Oregon Tip-Off Tournament.

Lauren Kellen had 15 points and Lauren Brunoehler added 10 for Mendota.

Hall 36, Prophetstown 29: The Red Devils outscored the Prophets 10-2 in the fourth quarter to pull out a win at the Oregon Tip-Off Tournament.

Hillary Klein paced Hall with 14 points. Caly Dessing led Prophetstown with six points.

Stockton 46, Eastland 44 (OT): Taylor Ruter scored 14 points for the Cougars in an overtime loss to the Blackhawks at the Forreston Tournament.

Jessica Brunner led Stockton with 14 points.

AFC 51, Hiawatha 22: Kimmie Mairs scored 15 points to lead the Raiders at the AFC Tip-Off Tournament in Ashton.

Also for the Raiders, Grace Kennay had 14 points and Sarah Smith added 11.

Faith Christian 45, Quad City Christian 30: Parker Ortgiesen had 28 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and four assists as the Falcons won a first-round game in the Zetterberg Tournament in Grand Detour.

Also for Faith Christian (2-0), Amanda Smith had 13 points, eight steals, four rebounds and three assists.
