Singing for
 their supper - MORRISON – The city’s church choirs are presenting “We Sing for Their Supper,” a concert to benefit Morrison Food Pantry and the Christmas Helping Hands program, at 6 p.m. Sunday at Ebenezer Reformed Church of Morrison.

Each choir will perform two numbers, and the combined community choir, under the direction of Kathy Janicek, will perform three selections: “With A Voice of Singing,” “We Are A Church,” and “The Blessing of Aaron.” A coffee and fellowship hour will follow.

 Holidays - ROCK FALLS – The annual Rock Falls Hometown Holidays continues today.

Today

4-7 p.m., VFW soup and sandwich supper.

4:30-6:30 p.m., chili supper at Rock Falls United Methodist Church.

5:30 p.m., Love Light Ceremony at First Street and First Avenue.

6-8 p.m., Uptown Christmas Walk along First Avenue and Second Street. Free activities, live reindeer, entertainment, and shopping.

Christmas in Prophetstown - PROPHETSTOWN – The 24th annual Holiday Walk and Lighted Christmas Parade will be Saturday.

The highlights:

3-5 p.m., visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the fire department.

4-6 p.m., Masonic Lodge chili and barbecue supper at the fire station.

5:30 p.m., lighting of the Love Light Tree at Eclipse Square, with carolers.

6 p.m. Parade kicks off.

Shops will be open, two TVs will be raffled off, and concessions will be available. Go to www.prophetstownil.com for more information.

Festival of Trees - STERLING – Hospice of the Rock River Valley’s 20th annual Festival of Trees benefit wraps up this weekend at Northland Mall in Sterling.

Jean Dady plays piano from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today while shoppers admire the decorated trees and shop the Country Store.

Saturday, have breakfast with Santa for $3 a person from 8 to 11 a.m. at Sterling Moose Lodge.

The mall opens at 10 a.m., with a Kids Korner from 10 a.m. to noon; a SWAT Team Puppeteers show by Full Gospel Assembly Church from noon to 2 p.m., a holiday style show at 3 p.m., and the Coleta County Carillon Bell Choir at 6 p.m.
