Tyler Loos and Cody Richardson were repeat selections Thursday to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association’s All-State teams.

Loos, a Sterling senior offensive lineman, and Richardson, an Amboy senior running back, were honored for the second time. Both were named to the 2008 IHSFCA teams. They were joined from the area this year by Morrison’s Josh Vos and Bureau Valley’s Michael Weidner.

The teams were voted on by coaches around the state. One team was named per class, with about 20 players per team.

Loos was named to the Class 5A team, and Richardson was named to the 2A squad with Vos and Weidner, both seniors who play fullback and middle linebacker.

Vos leads the 12-0 Mustangs with an area-best 1,810 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. Morrison plays Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in the 2A semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday for a trip to the championship game next Friday in Champaign.

Richardson rushed for 1,431 yards and 14 touchdowns for Amboy, which advanced to the second round in 2A. Weidner ran for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Storm, which lost in 2A’s first round.

Loos, a Division I offensive line prospect, led the Golden Warriors to the second round in Class 5A.
