CHADWICK – Eugene Evan Weber, 82, of Freeport, formerly of Chadwick, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport.
Eugene was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Chadwick, the son of Ward and Erma E. (Lego) Weber in Chadwick. He graduated from Chadwick High School. Eugene served in the Navy during World War II. He married Frances M. Hartman on July 31, 1949, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick.
Eugene owned and operated Weber’s Repair in Chadwick for 50 years as a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of Chadwick American Legion Post 739, and First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick; and was a 50-plus-year Mason. Eugene enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, and golfing. Most important to Eugene was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Frances M. Weber of Freeport; one son, Terry (Jane) Weber of Keller, Texas; one daughter, Debra (Bill) Palmquist of Freeport; one sister, Cleo (Oscar Jr.) Brown of Chadwick; five grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Adam, Sarah, and Catie; and one great-grandchild, Christopher Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chadwick Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll.
