STERLING – Victoria G. Gomez, 76, of Sterling, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at CGH Medical Center. She was a nursing home cook.

Mrs. Gomez was born Nov. 17, 1932, in San Vicente, El Salvador, the daughter of Carlos Gavidia and Cleotilde (Pereira) Ingles. She married Robert Gomez in July 1967, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2009.

Survivors include two nieces, Lorena De Roemer of Fayetteville, N.C., and Maritza Ayala of Carol Stream.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.

A memorial has been established.
