Local artist’s paintings at bank
DIXON – Paintings by local watercolor artist Betty Predmore are on display at Sauk Valley Bank, 300 Walton Drive.
The exhibit can be viewed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday through December in Sauk Valley Bank’s conference room.
The self-taught watercolor artist grew up in rural northwestern Wisconsin and moved to Dixon in 1964.
Nature is her favorite subject. Her own gardens are an inspiration for her floral paintings. Her studio also abounds with scenes of the Rock River, barns and an array of diverse subjects.
Predmore has taught watercolor classes for Sauk Valley Community College and Woodlawn Arts Academy, and in her home studio. She has won numerous awards at the Phidian Art Show, the Nuts About Art Show, the Belvidere Art Show and the Galena Fine Art Show.
“Betty Predmore’s exhibit continues the tradition of featuring one of the many talented artists living in the Sauk Valley area,” said Chuck Phillips, president of Sauk Valley Bank. “As we get ready for winter, I think people will enjoy Betty’s florals and nature scenes all the more.”
Predmore’s exhibit at Sauk Valley Bank follows shows by 14 other local artists, the Illinois Watercolor Society and the Sinnissippi Foundation.
