Fritsch leads Sauk to victory

The Sauk Valley Skyhawks turned it on in the last 10 minutes Tuesday to earn a 75-65 home win over Madison Tech.

Sterling graduate Dustin Fritsch had his best game thus far for the Skyhawks with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

“He’s really been playing all right for us,” Sauk Valley coach Russ Damhoff said. “He was aggressive tonight and getting his points on put-backs.”

Zach House added 13 points and eight rebounds for Sauk (4-1).

Bobby Komoroski led Madison Tech (3-1) with 17 points.

Women’s game

Madison Tech 62, Sauk Valley 56: Camille Thomas had 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Skyhawks in a home loss to non-conference foe Madison Tech.

Merrissa Johnson finished with 10 points for the Skyhawks (2-3), Eleanor Garcia had eight and Katie Johnson and Anita Amisi added seven each.

Shelby Beth had 18 points for Madison Tech (5-0) and Gabi Hungerford added 11. The Wolfpack are ranked No. 1 in the country in Division III after posting a 69-54 win over Rochester (N.Y.) on Saturday in a rematch of last season’s national championship game.
