FORRESTON –The annual 2-day Christmas in the Country event kicks off Dec. 4 at the Car Store, where the Rock River Valley Barbershop Chorus will perform at 6:45 p.m.

“There will be 15-20 people performing,” organizer Monty Cotter said. “It should be fun.”

A pulled pork supper will be served at the Car Store 4:30-7:30 p.m. Children can visit Santa 6-7:30 p.m. at the Forreston Public Library, where cookies and cocoa will be served.

Members of the Forreston High School carolers will roam the streets 4-6 p.m., and 4-8 p.m., hayrides will be available at the Depot.

Santa will visit many downtown businesses from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 5.

New this year is the variety show, 1-2:30 p.m. at the fire station.

“There will be local talent at the show,” Cotte said. “There will also be examples of fashion from different eras.”
