STILLMAN VALLEY – Ricky Leon Roberson Jr., 23, of Stillman Valley, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was employed by Roberson Roberson Builders, as a carpenter.

Ricky was born Aug. 23, 1986, in Dixon, the son of Ricky and Lee Anna (Patterson) Roberson Sr. He was a member of Franklin Grove United Methodist Church. Ricky loved spending time with his son, Shawn, who was his world. He enjoyed snowmobiling and drag racing.

Survivors include his son, Shawn Roberson of Franklin Grove; his parents, Ricky and Lee Anna Roberson Sr. of Stillman Valley; his fiancée, Stephanie Reynolds of Franklin Grove; his brother, Bryan Roberson of Mooresville, N.C.; his sisters, Meghan Roberson of Biddeford, Maine, Valarie Patterson of Mooresville, N.C., and Veronica Patterson of Sterling; his maternal grandmother, Mary Spangler of Dixon; his maternal grandfather, Richard (Janice) Patterson of Savanna; his paternal grandmother, Lorna Roberson of Dixon; his paternal stepgrandmother, Christine Roberson of Sugar Grove; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Roberson.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Franklin Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Karl Sokol, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the church. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.

A memorial has been established for his son, Shawn Roberson.
