Belva Foltz

CAROL STREAM – Belva L. Foltz, 95, a resident of Windsor Park Manor, Carol Stream, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield.

Belva was born March 1, 1914, in Milledgeville, the daughter of John Davidson and Mary (Glenn) Magill. She married Robert E. Foltz on June 16, 1933. Robert and Belva resided in Sterling until they retired to Sedona, Ariz. After Robert preceded her in death in 1982, Belva returned to Illinois in 1985.

Belva’s occupation was her marriage and family. Passions that never faded were reading newspapers, the Bible, and books. She also enjoyed traveling and painting, and was an excellent seamstress.

Survivors include four children, Janet Bruce and Carol Thorne, both of Wheaton, Ronald (Marcia) of Shingle Springs, Calif., and Diane (David) McCallister of Fort Mill, S.C.; two sisters, Berniece Anschutz of Sterling and Mildred Speyrer of Port Arthur, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Rob Bruce, Scot Bruce, Kirsten Foltz Anthes, Gretchen Foltz, Ryan Foltz, Amanda Foltz, Amy Thorne Collins, Abby Thorne Birt, Calvin Thorne, Cameron Thorne, and Jonathan McCallister; and nine great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Orr; two brothers, Wayne and John Magill; one son-in-law, David Bruce; and one grandson, Justin McCallister.

Private family graveside service will be Saturday at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 2 at Windsor Park Manor, Carol Stream.

Arrangements were completed by Hultgren Funeral Home, Wheaton.
