HIGDEN, Ark. – Jessie Lee Bennett, 63, of Higden, Ark., formerly of Amboy and the East Moline area, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at White County Hospital, Searcy, Ark. He was employed as a CMS mechanic for the state of Illinois before retiring.

Mr. Bennett was born April 10, 1945, in Widener, Ark., the son of William and Charlie Lillian (Lewis) Bennett. He married Joanne Leffelman on June 22, 1973, in Dixon.

Survivors include his wife; his special friend “Trixie;”and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Viola; and three brothers, Henry and twins, Gail and Gordon.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Amboy, with the Rev. Vicki Sauter, pastor, officiating. Military honors, conducted by Amboy American Legion, will follow the service at the church.

Local arrangements were completed by Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, Amboy.
