ROCHELLE – Bonnie Lynn Burgess, 56, of Rochelle, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Rochelle Community Hospital.

Bonnie was born Sept. 11, 1953, in Rochelle, the daughter of John and Rose (Wirtz) Bondan. She graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1971. Bonnie married Thomas J. Burgess on May 23, 1987.

She was employed by Rochelle Community Hospital, in the business office for 18 years with her best friend, Pam Volkert, and also by Rochelle School District 231, as a bus aide. Bonnie was a great cook, and a giving person who enjoyed gardening and her dogs, Molly and Maddy.

Survivors include her husband, Tom of Rochelle; one son, Tyler Burgess of Las Vegas; and one
brother, Robert Bondan of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, John Bondan.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, Rochelle, with the Rev. Richard Devore officiating. Entombment will be at Lawnridge Cemetery Mausoleum, Rochelle. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society.
