in one of the men’s apartment.

Iowa City Police Sgt. Troy Kelsay says the victim, a 21-year-old Johnson County man who he didn’t identify, suffered injuries over most of his body. Kelsay says the man’s injuries did not appear to require hospitalization, but the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Charged with willfully causing bodily injury were 18-year-old Derryk Berger of Buffalo Grove, Ill., 21-year-old Kevin Lee of Northbroo, and 20-year-old Jonathan Chun of Iowa City.

According to a criminal complaint, the three found the man asleep in Chun’s apartment early on Aug. 30. The man was staying across the hall, but did not live in the complex.
