TELFORD, Tenn. – Blanche K. Sliger, 81, of Telford, Tenn., died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at John M. Reed Nursing Home, Limestone, Tenn. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Sliger was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Washington County, Tenn., the daughter of Earl and Stella (Gentry) Hensley.

She was a member of New Victory Baptist Church, Telford, Tenn. She married Orval L. Sliger.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Stan (Judy) Sliger of Limestone, Tenn.; a daughter, Sharron (Keith) Simmons of Iowa City, Iowa; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral will be at 8 p.m. today at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, Jonesborough, Tenn., with Pastor Lester Morelock officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Victory Baptist Cemetery, Telford, Tenn. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
 A memorial has been established to New Victory Baptist Cemetery, 527 Conklin Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
