WALNUT – Danny W. Thompson, 60, of 202 N. Fifth St., Walnut, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at his home. He was employed by Dietz Drainage, Walnut, as a heavy equipment operator, for the past 16 years.

Mr. Thompson was born Sept. 1, 1949, in Princeton, the son of Joseph William and Phyllis J. (Gramer) Thompson. He married Bonnie McClearin on Dec. 27, 1969, at Como Baptist Church.

He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William (Melissa) Thompson of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; two sisters, Laurie (Randy) Full of Harmon and Linda (Doug) Broers of Tampico; three brothers, Joe (Bee-Ja) Thompson and Edward Thompson, both of Walnut, and Mike (CC) Thompson of Harmon; a granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Thompson.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Eldon Cook, pastor of Walnut Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established.
