STERLING – Beatrice Beverly Card, 95, of Sterling, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Sterling Pavilion. She was employed by Frantz Manufacturing, Sterling; and co-owned and operated Bix Furniture Stripping and Refinishing, Sterling, with her husband, Les, until she retired.

Beatrice was born March 7, 1914, in Sterling, the daughter of Ouram Bailey and Berdina Riley (Hayes) Schultz. She married Leslie F. Card on Aug. 16, 1933, in Crown Point, Ind. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly J. (Darrell) Nusbaum of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Bonnie K. (Dr. Warren) Bohnhoff of Morrison; one son, Richard L. Card of Sterling; her twin sister, Bernice Phillips of Rock Falls; 12 grandchildren, Sam Card, Tom Card, Susan DeJonge, Nancy Coleman, Alan Nusbaum, Danny Nusbaum, David Nusbaum, Dianne Green, Wendy Sanders, Robert Martin, Laurie Kimura, and John Martin; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Janis Card; five sisters; and two brothers.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling, with the Rev. Jeff Coester, pastor of First Congregational Church UCC of Sterling, officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.

A memorial has been established.
