Thanks from book sale organizers

On behalf of the Sauk Foundation, we thank everyone in the community for helping make our recent used book sale, formerly sponsored by the American Association of University Women, a success. Proceeds from the sale will go toward scholarships for female students at Sauk Valley Community College.

Words can’t describe how much we appreciate the many people who donated books, worked the sale, and assisted in other ways with this worthwhile event.

A special thanks goes to the members of the AAUW who supported the successful transition of the event to the Sauk Foundation. We also thank Sauk Valley Community College for use of facilities and manpower to sort and transport the books, Northland Mall for assisting us in setting up the event, and Self Help Enterprises for assisting in recycling efforts. Also, thanks go out to the local media for helping us promote the sale.

One of the most rewarding parts of the event was watching the customers smile as they found their favorite books. Happy reading.

Note to readers – Amy Viering is the director and Heather Gieseke is the administrative assistant to Foundation and Grants at SVCC.
