DIXON – Marilyn J. Nysather, 78, of Dixon, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.

Mrs. Nysather was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Fort Atkinson, Wis., the daughter of Clarence and Frances (Sandmire) Anderson. She married Olaf M. Nysather on July 22, 1948, in Fort Atkinson, Wis. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2003. Marilyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dixon, and the Ruth Circle.

Survivors include three sons, John (Gail) Nysather of Oregon, Rodney (Charlene) Nysather of Sterling, and Eric (Joann) Nysather of Loveland, Colo.; a daughter, Randi (Timothy) Schmitt of Phoenix; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Frank Langholf, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.

Memorials have been established to the Diabetes Foundation and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dixon.
