AMBOY – Jacque C. Setchell, 81, of Amboy, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Amboy Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Mendota, the son of George and Faith (Crandall) Setchell. He had farmed and also worked for the Illinois Tollway Authority for 17 years, prior to his retirement in 1997.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Sublette. He married Dolores Sondgeroth March 30, 1948, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mendota.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Setchell.

He is survived by his wife; children, Larry (Karen) Setchell of Dixon, Pam (John) Bonnell of Dixon, Craig (Janet) Setchell of Amboy, Jacqueline (Terry) Sondgeroth of Dixon, Bruce (Lori) Setchell of Amboy, Scott (Candi) Setchell of Dixon, and Dean (Kelly) Setchell of Amboy; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Robert (Joyce) Setchell of Mendota, Bruce (Sondra) Setchell of Crete, and David Setchell of Sublette.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Sublette, with the Rev. Edward Hughes officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Sublette. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Scripture service at 3:30 p.m., today at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, Amboy, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
