PROPHETSTOWN – Ardeth Z. Woolums, 80, of Prophetstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown. She was employed by Penberthy, Prophetstown, for 22 years before retiring.

Mrs. Woolums was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Portland, Mich., the daughter of Harold and Alice (Anderson) Crandall. She married Clark “Corkey” Woolums on Sept. 1, 1946, in Tampico.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Rick (Anna) Woolums of Prophetstown; a daughter, Julie (TJ) Tijerina of Baytown, Texas; a sister, Ramona Dickenson of Ionia, Mich.; a brother, Don Crandall not of the area; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Woolums and Ronald Woolums; a brother, Harold Crandall Jr.; and a sister, Beverly Toppert.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home, 46 Grove St., state Route 78 N., Prophetstown.

Burial will be at Leon Cemetery, rural Prophetstown. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown; Heartland Hospice; and breast cancer research.
