Roe still weighing burglary charges: Information needed on Polo burglaries

OREGON – Ogle County State’s Attorney Ben Roe said Tuesday that he needs more information before he can decide whether to charge three young men in a rash of Polo burglaries.

“After reviewing the (police) reports, I contacted Polo Police Chief Dennis Christen for follow-up on the facts. He is going to provide more information,” Roe said.

“With that, we are anticipating we will have a decision on what specific charges there will be by Tuesday.”

Dylan Green, 17, Brian Arriola, 19, and Ryan Miller, 20, all of Polo, were arrested Sept. 26 in connection with a burglary spree that night in Dixon. Five to 10 homes and about 10 vehicles were burglarized.

They also are suspects in a monthslong Polo crime wave, and have been interviewed by Ogle County detectives, who are assisting Polo police.

Roe said it has taken more time to go through the reports because there are so many.

“There have been 25 burglaries, thefts, residential burglaries, and burglaries to vehicles since June 11,” he said.

Miller and Green each are charged with residential burglary, two counts of burglary, criminal damage to property and two counts of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle.

Arriola is charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property.

Miller and Arriola are in Lee County Jail; Green is free on bond.
