ROCK FALLS – The long-awaited transformation of the former Reliant Manufacturing site will be unveiled at tonight’s City Council meeting.

Madison, Wis.-based Schreiber/Anderson and Associates will present its site plan at the City Council meeting.

The design will include a bike path that runs from the lower to the upper dam, commercial space on the western half and multifamily housing on the eastern half of the site.

General construction parameters, such as whether the buildings will be brick or steel, and locations of buildings will be outlined, but there will be “enough flexibility for a developer,” City Administrator Richard Downey said.

“We want to make sure [a new business] correlates with all stores, to have some consistency,” Downey said.

The city will schedule an open house to display the design later this month. The hope is that the plan comes to fruition in 5 to 10 years, Downey said.

This is the first site design presented since a fire destroyed the western portion of the site in December 2007.
