Some of the Illinois road and bridge projects selected so far to receive federal stimulus money:

■ The priciest project is $29 million to rebuild an interchange and add some lanes where Interstates 55 and 70 hook up with state Route 162, just east of St. Louis. The project is supposed to begin this summer and be finished by 2012.

■ $7.5 million to bridge a highway over Humbert Road, northeast of St. Louis. It’s the only stimulus-funded project for a new bridge on a new federal list. There’s no fixed start date, but the project is set for completion in 2011.

■ A $4 million contract for consultation services to an Chicago-area engineering company, Baxter & Woodman Inc.

■ Nearly $3 million for around 10 miles of resurfacing on state Route 78 from north of state Route 17 to the Peoria County line in Stark County.

■ Around $750,000 to improve a bridge over state Route 92 in Moline, in northwestern Illinois.

■ Around $370,000 to put a prefabricated pedestrian bridge over Buffalo Creek and for a shared-use path in the Chicago area.

■ The smallest project is $25,000 for a four-way stop signal along a Route 66 bike trail in central Illinois, in Chenoa. Work is expected to begin in August and to be finished within 30 days.
