WALNUT – Burton R. Mungor, 80, of 324 Meltzer St., Walnut, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. He was employed by Walnut Custom Homes for 47 years, retiring in 1994.

Mr. Mungor was born April 30, 1929, in Walnut, the son of Ralph and Mary (Taylor) Mungor. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Letha Carrington on Dec. 27, 1957, in Princeton.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael (Melynda) Mungor of Cherry Valley; a grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Don Mungor; and a sister, Shirley Clark.

Memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial is at Walnut Cemetery. A time of sharing is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garland Funeral Home, Walnut.

A memorial has been established to Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
