DIXON – A Woosung woman was hospitalized Monday after a two-vehicle crash just north of the city.

The crash occurred at about 3:42 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 26 and Timber Creek Road.

A Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Rosemary McAlister, 60, of Woosung, was northbound on Route 26 approaching Timber Creek when a Ford F-150, driven by Judith Dennis, 61, of Clinton, Iowa, approached westbound on Timber Creek.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s police, the truck failed to yield, entering the intersection before the PT Cruiser had driven through, striking the passenger side.

The PT Cruiser rolled several times over a distance of more than 180 feet, coming to rest on its roof in the west ditch of Route 26.

Responders had to remove McAlister from her car. She was taken to KSB Hospital. As of this morning, McAlister was not listed in KSB’s patient directory, and it was unclear if she was treated and released or transferred to another hospital.

Dennis was cited for failure to yield.
