Obituaries

Darlene Herzog

DIXON – Darlene S. Herzog, formerly of 203 Heather Lane, Dixon, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, at Bickford Senior Living, Oswego.

She was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Lafayette. In 1947, she married William “Bud” Herzog. He preceded her in death in 1974. Darlene was employed by the city of Dixon as comptroller/treasurer, for 26 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Phidian Art Club, having served on several boards and volunteering after retirement.

Her mother, father, six sisters, and two brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Lesley (Michael Meis) Markoski of 5120 Coneflower Drive, Naperville, IL 60564; two granddaughters, Allison (Jason) Luczak of Milwaukee and Julie of Naperville; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded by the Neptune Society.
She will be placed to rest with her husband at Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford.

Memorials may be directed to the children’s department at Dixon Public Library.
